Yael Stone, born in Australia and living in New York City in 2013, portrayed Lorna Mello as an inmate on Orange Is the New Black. Yael has graduated from NIDA. Since her early years, Yael has been lucky to have worked with some of some of Australia's top storytellers, stars of performance and visionaries behind the scenes in film, television and theatre. Yael is a renowned actor with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael found her new place of residence in New York City when the production premiered to acclaim on the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Yael was the co-founder of The Cannery. Based in the Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages creativity, creative writing and innovative projects, and supports the development of young writers.
